Day 1
It's the big day! On the day of departure from Montreal to Istanbul, your night will be spent on board.
Day 2
Once you've arrived in Istanbul, you'll fly back to Tashkent. You'll meet your English-speaking guide on arrival at your destination.
Afterwards, you'll head for your hotel to recover from your journey.
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll visit the Museum of Applied Arts and the Tashkent Metro. Dinner will take place in a restaurant, followed by a visit to the “Old City”, including the “Khast Imam” complex, Tashkent's religious center featuring several mosques, mausoleums and medersas dating mostly from the 16th century.
You'll also visit the Chorsu market (Bazaar), the largest and one of the oldest bazaars in Central Asia. Dinner will be at a local family's home, with a traditional show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4
After an early-morning breakfast at the hotel, you'll be transferred to Tashkent station to catch the Tashkent/Kokand train. Arriving in Kokand, you'll be taken to a restaurant for dinner. After dinner, you'll start exploring the city.
The Kokand city tour begins from the Khoudoyar khan palace followed by a visit to the Djami mosque, a tour of the Norboutabek medersa and finally you'll visit the Modori-khan mausoleum. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Fergana, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 5
The day begins with breakfast at the hotel. Then it's off to Margilan. There the visit of a famous factory “Yodgorlik” specialized in silk production, where you can see the silk production process will be waiting for you.
You will then be transferred to the town Richtan. The craftsmen of this town are known with their special technique of ceramic production. An excursion to the ceramist's house-museum. Dinner will be served at the ceramist's family home.
Transfer to Tashkent (5-hour drive) over the 2700 m Kamchik Pass. There will be photo stops to enjoy panoramic mountain views.
On arrival in the capital, you'll have dinner at a restaurant before being transferred to the hotel.
Day 6
Lunch at the hotel. Transfer from hotel to airport for flight Tashkent (07:00) - Ourgench (08:30).
Transfer to Khiva. A day of sightseeing in Khiva: Visit to the Itchan Kala fortress, the old inner city, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city is home to many remarkable historical monuments, including the Allakulikhan and Mohammed Amin Khan medersas.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Visit to the following monuments Kalta Minor, Pakhlavan Makhmoud mausoleum, Islom Khodja minaret, Juma mosque, Tosh Khovli and other monuments. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Khiva.
Day 7
After lunch at the hotel in Khiva, you'll visit the Qiblatozabog Palace, located south-west of Khiva. Then a visit to the Nurullaboy Palace awaits you.
Dinner will be served in a local restaurant. The afternoon is free, for example, to stroll the streets in search of souvenirs.
Dinner will be at a local family's home, with a demonstration of Khiva bread baking. You'll see how it's made.
Overnight in Khiva
Day 8
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take the road to Bukhara (approx. 6 hours 30 minutes drive). You'll have dinner on the way to Bukhara at a local restaurant.
You will have the opportunity to take photos in the Kyzilkoum desert.
Arrival in Bukhara you will be directed to your hotel.
Dinner will be served in a restaurant.
Day 9
After breakfast at the hotel, the whole day is devoted to sightseeing. During the first part of it you'll visit the mausoleum of the Samanid dynasty, the Arc fortress, the Bolo-Haouz mosque.
Dinner will be at a restaurant. Afterwards, you'll visit the Kalon minaret, the Miri-Arab, Magoki-Attori, Tchashma-Ayub medersa, the Ulughbek and Abdulazizkhan medersa, the LyabiHauz ensemble, the Chor- Minor medersa.
Dinner will be served at the same time as a demonstration of the preparation of a traditional dish. Overnight at a hotel in Bukhara.
Day 10
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll visit the Bahavuddin Nakshbandiy mausoleum and Sitorai Mokhi - Khossa, the summer residence of Bukhara's last dynasty of emirs. Dinner at the restaurant. The afternoon is free to stroll around the city.
As for dinner, it will be arranged at Nodir Devon Begi and will be accompanied by a national dance performance. The night will be spent at a hotel in Bukhara.
Day 11
Following breakfast at the hotel, you'll take the road to Nurata.
After dinner, you'll begin your tour of Nurata as well as the Chashma Mosque.
You will be transferred to the yurt near Lake Aydarkol to spend the night.
In the evening, your dinner will be served outdoors. After dinner, around the fire, you can enjoy national music performed live.
Day 12
Day 12 will begin with breakfast, followed by your drive to Lake Aydarkol where you'll have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the local flora and fauna.
You'll also have the opportunity to swim at the lake. A camel ride around the lake is on offer.
After dinner, you'll take the road to Samarkand. Dinner will be at a restaurant and overnight at a hotel in Samarkand.
Day 13
After breakfast at the hotel, your day will be entirely devoted to visiting the city: the Gur Emir(Tamerlan) mausoleum, Registan Square.
After dinner at the restaurant, you'll have the opportunity to visit the following historical sights: Shakh-i-Zinda, Bibi Khanum.
Dinner will also be at the restaurant.
The night will again be spent at the hotel in Samarkand.
Day 14
On this penultimate day, you'll start it off with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Afrosiyob Museum, the St. Daniel Mausoleum and the Ulugbek Observatory, and the Siyob Oriental Market.
After dinner at the restaurant, the second part of the day is devoted to a visit to Samarkand's ancient silk paper factory, where you'll have the opportunity to learn the silk paper-making technique.
This day will end with your transfer to the train station to catch the Afrosiyob Samarkand/Tashkent TGV. A farewell dinner will take place in a restaurant before spending the night in Tashkent.
Day 15
As the journey draws to a close, it's time for breakfast before being transferred to the airport for the Tashkent/Istanbul and Istanbul/Montreal flights.
